Serve and Protect Your Community Several factors have come together creating a significant demand for trained police and security officers. There are new threats from organized crime, gangs, terrorism, criminal use of technology and increasing shortages of Police personnel, with many now serving, reaching retirement age. Police services are recruiting for diversity as they want the face of the next generation of police to be as diverse as Canada.

To meet this need, Herzing College is offering a one year ‘Police Foundations’ diploma program, which includes the Canadian Firearms Safety Courses and an internship of practical work placement.

Crime doesn't stop during a recession, and police officers and security specialists continue to be in demand. *Canada has a total of 229 police services working for the safety and security of 32,000,000 people. They employ 61,050 police officers and 23,391 civilians. Canadian’s are well served with 1 officer for every 528 people.
